H&H Metal Source provides precision coil slitting for flat rolled steel products, with particular expertise in surface- and flatness-critical cold rolled steel applications from 22 gauge through 14 gauge.
Our two slitting lines allow us to produce slit coil to precise width requirements while maintaining the surface quality, flatness, and consistency required for demanding manufacturing applications. We slit and deliver to manufacturers throughout Michigan from our Grand Rapids facility.

Materials We Slit
H&H slits cold rolled steel (CR), hot rolled pickled and oiled steel (HRPO), galvanized steel, and galvannealed steel. Grades range from commercial and drawing-quality steels through structural, High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA), and Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS).

Precision Slit Coil
Slit coil can be produced to customer-specific width, coil weight, ID, OD, and packaging requirements.
Our ability to hold slit-width tolerances as tight as ±.003″ makes H&H well suited for applications where consistent strip width is important to downstream stamping, roll forming, and other manufacturing operations.
Coil Slitting Questions
What is the minimum slit width H&H can produce?
H&H can slit to a minimum width of .50″. Slit widths are held to tolerances as tight as ±.003″.
What thickness range can H&H slit?
H&H slits flat rolled carbon steel from .021″ through .260″ on incoming coil up to 60″ wide.
What is the maximum coil weight H&H can run?
Our slitting lines handle coils up to 60,000 lbs., with a 20″ or 24″ ID and a maximum OD of 72″.
Does H&H slit galvanized and galvannealed steel?
Yes. H&H slits galvanized and galvannealed steel along with cold rolled and HRPO, in grades from commercial and drawing quality through HSLA and AHSS.
Can H&H slit steel a customer already owns?
Yes. H&H slits customer-owned coil through our toll processing service, including obsolete coil that needs to be reslit into usable widths.
How does H&H package slit coil?
Slit coil is produced to customer-specific coil weight, ID, OD, and packaging requirements. Tell us how the material needs to arrive and we will build the coils to match.
